Dr. Georgia Cleary

Dr Georgia Cleary is a cornea, cataract and refractive surgeon practicing in Melbourne.
She attended medical school at the University of Western Australia, then trained as an ophthalmologist in London, UK. In London she completed a PhD exploring cataract surgery and intraocular lens design. Her subspecialty training in cornea and external eye disease was undertaken at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, then the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital (RVEEH), Melbourne.
Georgia is a consultant ophthalmologist at RVEEH, where she is the Research Lead for Cataract Surgery. She works within the corneal service, and the surgical and acute ophthalmology services. She is an honorary fellow at the University of Melbourne and the Centre for Eye Research, Australia.
She is actively involved in teaching and training. Her research interests are microbial keratitis, recurrent corneal erosion syndrome and cataract surgery outcomes. She has presented her research work internationally and has received numerous prizes.
