Dr. Bang Bui

Bang has been an optometrist for over 20 years, he completed his PhD in neuroscience in 2003 and undertook research studies at the Devers Eye Institute (Portland, Oregon, USA). He has been a National health and Medical Research Council CJ Martin fellow and an Australian Research Council Future fellow and is currently deputy head of Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Since returning to Melbourne in 2005 he has developed a vibrant research group focusing on understanding the interactions between the retinal vasculature and neurons and the risk factors underlying neurodegenerative diseases including glaucoma and diabetes.
